Job Purpose:

Sole responsibility for daily running of our London service, managing marketing, referrals and therapist schedules. Grant application, sourcing donations and planning and running fundraising events. Promoting our Training services, with delivery of key training courses under supervision of Consultant.Supervising and supporting therapy team. Specific responsibility for safeguarding and health and safety within the London service.

Major tasks:

1. Marketing our services to a range of stakeholders
2. Dealing with referrals and assessment bookings
3. Overseeing team schedule
4. Supervision and practical training of therapy staff, including recruiting and managing caseloads and schedules
5. Building our communication strategies and liaison with parents and other stakeholders
6. Promoting and booking our training services
7. Direct delivery of parent and professional training under supervision of consultant
8. Undertaking grant searches
9. Grant applications
10. Building a fundraising strategy
11. Planning and running fundraising events
12. Named child safeguarding lead
13. Responsibility for risk assessments and health and safety in the workplace

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Essential:

Masters level qualification in Psychology /Autism/ Education or Child Development

Minimum 3 years’ experience of working with children 0-5 and 5-10 who have autism or related disabilities and their families

Minimum 2 years experience managing and/ or supervising small team/s

Knowledge of child development

Experience of using standardized assessment tools

Ability to act on own initiative

Ability to prioritise and make decisions

Commitment to personal and organisational development

Commitment to the development of all children of all abilities

Desirable:

Experience of grant applications within third sector

Experience of organising fundraising events

Therapy experience in home based programmes with early year’s children

PRT Level 1 certification

First Aid at Work qualification

Training in evidence based interventions such as PRT/ESDM/ABA

Blue Sky Autism Project is a small innovative charity providing specialist therapeutic input to preschool children with autism and other developmental disabilities. We work using the most up to date researched approaches and have an exciting opportunity for a full time senior graduate therapist to join our Scotland team (Stirling based but travelling Scotland wide). We are looking for individuals with a degree and masters (or equivalent) in psychology, child development, education or a related discipline. Candidates must have experience of working with young children, have knowledge and awareness of child development and have a specific interest in autism. Training and certification will be provided to successful candidates. Candidates must be willing to travel.

Job Purpose:

Supporting the daily running of our London service, managing rotas and schedules, supporting the setting up, running therapy programmes for children and families under supervision of consultant. Supervising and supporting volunteer team. Specific responsibility for formative and summative assessment and organising and planning research studies.

Major tasks:

  1. Direct delivery of therapy to children and their families
  2. Development of individualised PRT therapy programmes for each child under guidance of service manager and consultant
  3. Supervision and practical training of volunteers, including recruiting and managing volunteers
  4. Support with promotion and marketing of project
  5. Communication and liaison with parents and other stakeholders
  6. Support with baseline and ongoing assessment and data collection and graphing for ongoing evaluation of programme and service
  7. Support with planning and undertaking small and large scale research projects
  8. Organisation and cataloguing of toys and resources

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Essential

Masters level qualification in Psychology /Autism/ Education/ Speech Therapy  or Child Development

or

PGCE

Experience of working with children 0-5 and 5-10 who have autism or related disabilities

Knowledge of child development

Experience of using standardized assessment tools

Experience of quantitative research methods

Experience with SSSP

Commitment to completing fidelity in PRT- up to Level 3

Ability to act on own initiative
