We are looking for a junior therapist to provide specialist nursery support for children accessing our services. Candidates should have a degree or equivalent in early childhood education/ child development or related discipline. We are looking for someone who is creative, flexible and enjoys working as part of a team. Some experience of working with children under 5 with developmental delays is required. Full training will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to build their experience.

Scotland (Maternity Leave cover January Start)
Blue Sky Autism Project is a small innovative charity providing specialist therapeutic input to preschool children with autism and other developmental disabilities. We work using the most up to date researched approaches and have exciting opportunities for full time therapists to join our Scotland and London teams. We are looking for individuals with a degree (or equivalent) in child development, education, speech and language, occupational therapy or a related discipline. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 years experience of working with young children, have knowledge and awareness of child development and have a specific interest in autism. Training and certification will be provided to successful candidates. Candidates must be willing to travel.
Job description
Hours: 37.5
Major tasks:
- Direct delivery of therapy to children and their families
- Development of individualised PRT therapy programmes for each child under guidance of service manager and consultants
- Support with promotion and marketing of project
- Communication and liaison with parents and other stakeholders
- Support with baseline and ongoing assessment and data collection and graphing for ongoing evaluation of programme and service
- Support with planning and undertaking small and large scale research projects
- Organisation and cataloguing of toys and resources
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Essential
Graduate qualification (or equivalent) in Child Devlopment/Autism/ Education/ Speech Therapy or Occupational Therapy
or
PGCE
Minumum of 1 years experience of working with children 0-5 and 5-10 who have autism or related disabilities
Knowledge of child development
Experience of using standardized assessment tools
Experience of quantitative research methods
Commitment to completing certification in NDBI approach ‘Play2Talk’- up to Level 3
Ability to act on own initiative
Ability to prioritise and make decisions
Commitment to personal and organisational development
Commitment to the development of all children of all abilities
Desirable:
Therapy experience in home based programmes with early year’s children
First Aid at Work qualification
Training in evidence based NDBI interventions such as PRT/ESDM/ABA
